Product Specifications

Stren’s Fluorocast is known as the “smooth casting” fluorocarbon which makes it excellent for ultralight anglers who need to get as much distance as possible from their small lures and baits.  The line is as soft and supple as monofilament but provides the same level of invisibility that fluorocarbon is known for.  The high density design makes it resist floating which is perfect when you need to get a lightweight bait down to the bottom without hindering its built in action.  Zero water absorption provides extremely low stretch and excellent knot strength, making Stren’s Fluorocast an incredibly reliable, long lasting fluorocarbon fishing line.

What I Think

There aren’t a lot of fluorocarbon lines that do well on ultralight tackle, but the Stren 100% fluorocarbon Fluorocast is one of them that excel where others tend to fall short.  If you are constantly fishing in areas where the water is heavily pressured by other anglers or where the fish are just inherently spooky you will want to consider tying on some fluorocarbon line.  Because it completely disappears under the water and sinks you do not have to worry about it causing the fish to spook while you are working your ultralight baits back to the bank or boat.  The heavy duty abrasion resistance coupled with the thin diameter makes it an excellent choice when you are fishing heavy structure or cover or know that you could possibly get pulled into areas where you prefer not to be, and need to put more pressure on the fish to get their head turned back towards you.
