Product Specifications

Berkley’s Trilene XL Smooth Casting is an excellent monofilament line that combines incredible handling and exceptional strength to make your time on the water that much easier.  The line provides you superior limpness to keep it from retaining line memory when it’s on the spool along with smooth handling and toughness so that you can feel confident when you are casting into thick cover, rocks, brush, and other areas where lesser lines would start to fall apart.  The unique formula gives you far less line twisting, less line kinks, minimal backlashing and superior abrasion resistance while retaining its smooth casting properties.  Berkley’s XL Smooth Casting line is available in 4lb test diameter in low visible green, blue fluorescent and clear colors to help you match the line to the type of fishing you’re going to be doing and help you easily spot it against the backdrop where you’re at.

What I Think

The small diameter and unique properties of Berkley’s Trilene XL make it incredibly easy to cast and keep you from having to deal with some of the biggest problems that face ultralight angers: line knots and twists.  The smooth finish on the line helps it fold onto the spool evenly and prevents kinks from forming in the line that can later become twists and wind knots.  With the three different colors available it is easy to choose one that matches the type of water you’re fishing in and still retain visibility on the super-small lines when they’re casted out over long distances.
