Product Specifications

Northland Fishing Tackle’s Mimic Minnow shad jigs are the perfect way to “match the hatch” when your target species is feeding on smaller baitfish.  The jigs closely replicate smaller baitfish with a holographic body and a soft, chewy profile that is almost irresistible.  Each jig includes 3D molded eyes that call the gamefish in while the super sharp Mustad Needle Point hooks easily pierce their mouth and keep them hooked up until you get them to the boat or bank.  The “stand-up” jighead style is available in 2” and 2-1/2” sizes making them great for targeting crappie, bass, perch, trout, and other larger gamefish with ultralight 2lb and 4lb test lines.

Colors Available

You can get Northland Tackle’s Mimic Minnow Shad Jigs in typical baitfish patterns ranging from Silver and Gold Shiner, Perch, and Bluegill to Rainbow Trout colors.  For dirtier, muddy or stained waters you can get a Firetiger pattern that features fish attracting brighter, holographic colors.

How To Work Northland Fishing Tackle Mimic Minnow Shad Jigs

In order to work the Mimic Minnow Shad Jigs properly you need to learn what the fish are looking for.  You can start out by swimming the jig back through areas where fish are waiting and determine the depth that they’re sitting at.  When swimming the jig fails you can slow down your retrieve and begin jigging the shad back to you in a “yo-yo” up-and-down bouncing retrieve.  As long as you are able to find the fish it is easy to get them to bite the baitfish profile of the Mimic Minnow.
