Product Specifications

Rapala broke the mold with their CountDown minnow series of ultralight crankbaits.  Each lure is designed to be used as a shallow diver, or a sinking crankbait depending on how you need to use it each time you get out to the water.  It can be trolled or cast and has been proven to be deadly on bass, walleye, panfish and large trout.

What I Think

The Rapala CountDown minnow has accounted for more fish in my experience than any other comparable crankbait.  The design of the lure allows for it to sink slowly to help you ensure that it stays in the strike zone longer.  By simply counting the seconds it is in the water you can easily determine the depth that it is running at, or you can just cast and wind like other shallow running crankbaits.  It doesn’t matter whether the fish are looking up toward the shallows for a meal, buried down in the weed beds waiting to ambush, or sitting extremely deep and suspended, the CountDown Minnow can easily get to them.

If you’re looking for a crankbait that will cast a mile, and do exactly what you expect it to do when it reaches the water, you need to pick up more than a few of the Rapala CountDown minnows.  They are available in ultralight sizes and a wide variety of colors to ensure that you have the perfect bait for the conditions that you are working with, time and time again.
