Product Specifications

Shimano’s Convergence series ultralight spinning rods are designed with an IM6 graphite blank for unparalleled levels of sensitivity and feel, with enough backbone to help you with your powerful hooksets and fish-turning pressure.  The entry level price tag includes a high end custom shaped cork handle, and reel seat, with Fuji guides to provide you with a comfortable all-day fishing experience.  Each blank includes a convenient hook keeper to prevent you from having to cut the line every time you store the rod in your vehicle or at the house.  When you need a rod that can cast light lures a “country mile” look no further than the 6′ model Convergence.

What I Think

When it comes to casting distance, no other rod can compare to Shimano’s Convergence series spinning rods.  The 6′ length can cast lures as light as 1/32 ounces up to 5/16 ounce so far that you will actually lose sight of them.  This is perfect when you’re searching for fish, or are dealing with incredibly spooky species that will take off at the first sight of you, your rod whipping through the air, or the noise of you making your cast.  Boasting an entry level price tag makes this a rod that every ultralight angler should have in their arsenal.

The Shimano Convergence series spinning rods are in a class all of their own when it comes to ultralight fishing.  If you’ve never experienced being able to cast as far as you can with a Convergence rod, you owe it to yourself to give it a shot.
