Product Specifications

Each St. Croix Triumph rod is built to St. Croix’s high level specifications to ensure the perfect balance of sensitivity, casting distance and hook setting power.  They are built on premium quality SCII graphite blanks with finely tuned tapers to ensure superior performance.  Hard aluminum oxide guides with black frames, a Fuji DPS reel seat, and a premium grade cork handle help transmit the lightest bumps and ticks back to your hand.  Two coats of Flex Coat slow cure finish ensures a smooth finish that prevents nicks and scrapes when you bang the rod against the boat or when you’re storing it.  Each rod is backed by St. Croix’s 5 year warranty and are hand crafted in the United States to maintain the highest level of fit and finish.

What I Think

Like all of the ultralight rods designed by St. Croix, the Triumph is up there with my favorites.  The Triumph line of rods are designed in 5’0” and 5’6” lengths to give you a good balance between casting distance, and hook setting power even when you’re fishing in some tight, winding streams.  The 5’0” is built with a moderate action, and the 5’6” is built with a fast action.  Depending on how you fish, and your typical needs, it’s easy to find one of the Triumph rods that fits into what you need.

St. Croix knows what an angler requires from the gear they use, and continue to deliver.  The mid-range price tag of the Triumph series rods makes them accessible by beginner anglers and still provides the performance that experienced anglers expect.
