Product Specifications

St. Croix’s Avid Series spinning rods are top of the line in performance, affordability, and durability.  Each rod is built with their patented Integrated Poly Curve tooling technology.  A premium high-modulus SCIII graphite blank provides superb sensitivity, extreme strength, and maintains a lightweight feel in your hands.  Slim profile ferrules and Fuji Alconite guides protect your line and provide a great parabolic bend.  St. Croix wraps each rod in a Fuji SKM reel seat and a hand selected cork handle to ensure the highest level of quality on each rod.  They’re finished with two coats of Flex Cure slow-cure finishing to ensure a finish that is knick resistant and perfectly smooth.

What I Think

St. Croix has long been known for producing some of the highest quality rods on the market.  When it comes to their Avid series of ultralight rods, the level of design quality, and craftsmanship that goes into each rod is still unparalleled with any other manufacturer.  These rods are available in a wide range of sizes, from 4’6” lengths for your super tight, smaller streams, up to 7’ for some serious casting distance and fish control.  Every rod is built with a fast action to ensure effortless casting and smooth line retrieval.

When it comes to ultralight rods, you are going to have a hard time finding another model that can compare to the St. Croix Avid series rods.  Each rod is designed with tight tolerances to ensure that you never have to use their lifetime warranty.
