Product Specifications

Each G.Loomis Classic Trout and Panfish rod is designed perfectly for throwing lightweight lures and line.  Each rod is built primarily for smaller freshwater species, but are capable of covering a wide variety of applications.  They are built with moderate to fast tapers to help protect the line and still maintain a sufficient amount of power.  Each rod is intended for use with 4lb test to 6lb test line, with none of the models being rated over 10lb test.  These are true ultralight rods with a Tennessee inspired cork handle to help transmit the power down to the rod tip, helping you cast your tiny lures a country mile.

What I Think

Don’t let the name of these rods fool you.  Even though they are called Trout and Panfish rods, they are designed for more species than that.  Whether you want to chase smaller trout and panfish in tight, winding streams, or you want to chase some bigger species such as bass, and even bonefish, the rods are designed to deliver the performance you need no matter the situations you’re using them in.  With the moderate fast action and the taper on each rod, you don’t have to worry about busting your line while you’re still able to get a solid hookset.

When it comes to throwing super-light lures on tiny lines, you need a rod that is built to perform.  G.Loomis knows exactly what ultralight anglers need from their gear, and put in every effort to ensure that their Trout and Panfish series rods live up to your expectations.
